Huchuy Qosqo is a group of ruins which overlooks the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The route we take is an orginal Inca Trail and was used by the Incas to reach the Sacred Valley from Cusco and Chinchero.

Hiking Lakes Rivers Ruins
Cusco - Chinchero - Tauca
From Cusco we head to Chinchero passing Lake Piuray to the community of Tauca (3762m/12343ft) where we begin ascending towards the Pucajasa Pass (4393m/14000ft).
Huchuy Qosqo
We descend to Huchuy Qosqo (3688m/12099ft). We will stop for lunch then explore the ruins.
Lamay - Cusco
We descend along switchbacks into the village of Lamay (2941m/9,649ft) where our van will be waiting to take us back to Cusco arriving in the early evening.
Cusco - Chinchero - Tauca
After an early morning pick up from your hotel we will drive through winding hills towards the Sacred Valley until reaching the Piuray Lagoon, located just past the town of Chinchero. In the nearby community of Tauca we will start the 8 to 9 hour hike. As we set out on the trail we will be rewarded with the breathtaking sight of the sun's early morning rays on Mount Veronica which slowly lights up the entire Vilcabamba Range.
Huchuy Qosqo
We will gradually head uphill towards the Pucajasa Pass where we will enjoy incredible views of the mountain range that surrounds the Sacred Valley. The crossing at the pass is about 200 meters long and located at over 4393m/14,000ft. From here we will begin to descend again and start to see sections of an Inca trail. Along the way the landscape will change as we head towards lower altitudes. Upon arrival at Huchuyqosqo, located at 3688m/12099ft we will stop for lunch. After a short rest, we will have time to explore this archeological complex characterized by double jamb doorways, 3-story houses and mixed constructions of stone and adobe. The ruins sprawl over the mountain top and are surrounded by spectacular views of the surrounding mountain terrain.
Lamay - Cusco
After exploring Huchuy Qosqo we will continue hiking across open country before descending along steep switchbacks into the village of Lamay. There, our van will be waiting for us to return to Cuscoarriving in the early evening.
