From the Temple of the Moon it's a pleasant descent along the Cebollawayq'o creek surrounded by native birds, rock formations, waterfalls and caves. Along the way we stop in at the Inca ruins and terraces of Inkilltambo and Kallachaka. We'll also see colonial brick ovens and the forgotten ruins of Rumi Wasi.

Hiking Ruins
Cusco - Temple of the Moon
We begin with a short ascent from Cusco up to the Temple of the Moon where we have time to explore.
Inkilltambo - Kallachaka
We continue on to the terraces and ruins of Kallachaka (Inca Carcel) followed by Kallachaka further down the creek. Both sites may have archeologists at work.
Rumi Wasi - Cusco
From the bridge at Kallachaka we ascend to more ruins, dig sites and views of Cusco until we reach the forgotten Rumi Wasi. From here we take a car to your hotel.
Cusco - Temple of the Moon
We'll take a car towards the Temple of the Moon where our trek begins. We'll first spend a few minutes exploring the Temple of the Moon and Kusilluchayoc. If we are lucky we'll spot the headless monkey, condor and snake stone carvings. From there we continue on maintained trails down Sacsayhuaman Canyon.

Inkilltambo - Kallachaka
From here we'll continue down following the creek until we reach Inkilltambo (Inca Carcel) where we will have a brief tour and time to explore. Inkilltambo is still under study today. Researchers say 95% remains unexplored which could take 10 years to unearth. From the ruins of Inkilltambo we'll continue to follow original Inka trails along the water listening to pools in the creek filling with each passing waterfall until we reach the Kallachaka bridge where we will see colonial remains and ovens. Also we'll observe the impressive construction of a troncade piramid sitting on top of the cliff still intact from the Inca epoch.

Rumi Wasi - Cusco
From the Kallachaka bridge we'll begin our ascent passing by an Inca wall with flowing fountains and up to an area where Kallachaka's archeologists are working. We'll continue to climb until we reach a beautiful panoramic view of Cusco. After a photo we'll begin a descent reaching the ruins of Kallachaka followed by Rumi Wasi. From there we'll go down 5 minutes to the neighborhood of Kari Grande and transfer to your hotel in taxi.
